He should probably reach out for another type of help beyond his current coaches.

The talent is there, and a rock steady mental demeanor can be developed - he's just not done that part yet...

To relieve some of the pressure I would offer this question, which he can pose to himself:

"What's right about missing kicks?"

Though unintuitive, allowing answers to flow from that question can relieve a lot of pressure...
