Well, you put or kept yourself in a position to pounce when the opportunity arose, so you deserve some credit! Most of us will have varying degrees of opportunity at some point, many don't even recognize it, many others decline for whatever reason. "If I had only..." is a familiar refrain at 3pm at most bars around the country!
