They will say things like Dave Matter did that our running backs averaged an incredible 8.4 yards per carry.
That's true but it's not an accurate representation of our running game.
We gained 89 % of all yards gained on the ground on two plays.
86% of the time our running backs averaged 2.69 yards per carry.
THAT'S why you have to remove the two, long runs. Otherwise, you get a very skewed perception of how we were doing on the ground. And, if you base your play calling on us gaining 8.4 yards per carry you're going to **** the bed.
It's not that those runs didn't count. They did. They were great plays. But they weren't the norm and, if you think they were, you have no business dissing the coach for his play calling.
