Another misinformed fan! We have run a total of 281 plays so far this season (165 rushing attempts & 116 passing attempts). We are running the ball almost 60% of the time. We've had moderate success running the ball. We have averaged 4.5 yards per attempt, but this is skewed by the fact we've had several long running plays. If you take out some of those long runs our running game is pretty average, especially against teams like Georgia. We need to execute our passing game better. Cook needs to be more accurate and we can't afford to have any drops. We are not good enough at either phase (running or passing) to lean on one over the other right now. Our O-line is average at best and if you haven't noticed we are leaving our TE's in to block a lot to help our running game. This is another reason our TE's pretty much disappear most games, but it also is one less player for the secondary to account for in coverage, which in turn hurts our passing game.
