the myth that the United States government spends all day figuring ways to butt into your life, tax the **** out of you, regulate your decision making, watch everything you do and generally and purposely (by the way) try to limit your freedom and liberty at every opportunity.

Also, do all of that whilst ignoring just how cushy and stable the average American's life is, but give yourself all of the credit for that, no matter how comically illogical that is.

Certainly don't draw any conclusions that at least a good portion of life in America is a result of good governance, rule of law, regulating the right things, making people pay taxes, even if they don't like it and make dumb arguments about why they shouldn't have to.
