at least from my reading. The issue is that we're compelled to *register* for the draft in the first place, under penalty of law.
If the draft isn't used, and hasn't for nearly 50 years, why legally compel people to register for it? The fact that there have been few prosecuted isn't a winning argument for me. There were 112K+ referrals made to DOJ, meaning that there's some serious zealotry by some to make sure that people comply.
I don't agree with compulsory or forced military service, and the registration requirement is a step in that direction.
