stocking their classrooms with books that were not age and content appropriate.
We struggled with this ten years ago with our daughter but it was not the fault of the teachers at that time. When they tested my daughter's reading in kindergarten she was already at a seventh grade level. It became a real task to find books that were written at her reading level but also at her maturity level. You don't really want a kindergartner reading books written for middle schoolers. My wife and I wound up pre-reading a lot of the books she brought home before giving them to her.
