definitions of terms are ridiculous.
You said "the government stole the term and changed its meaning"... that's not how language works. If the meaning/usage of a word changes on a large scale, then it becomes the new meaning.
Today, everyone understands that "inflation" is about the price of goods.
And as the article correctly points out, it's driven by "too much money CHASING TOO FEW GOODS"... if the supply of goods increases proportionally to the money supply, and prices remain the same, *no one* would be talking about "inflation".
