He tried to sign much larger missile treaties with the west that Reagan cowardly balked on. He, like Biden, saw his military defeated in Afghanistan and wisely chose to abandon it to the afghans. He oversaw the peaceful dissolution of the Soviet Union. He was promised that nato would expand not one inch more. Never across the Elbe river was what he was told. It’s too bad he believed the lies that has led to the war we’re seeing.
