and that national security is not "sacrosanct", you've lost me.

I think a lot of Americans are like you. They don't really get how the sausage is made in terms of the stability in their lives living in America. It's not gravity. It's not a natural state that doesn't require constant vigilence against threats of all kinds. Calling that a "bogeyman" is just plain ignorant.

And while I get it's very popular these days to be anti-government about everything, including when they actually get a warrant to obtain documents kept by a one-term President (unbelievable we're even talking about this), everything you enjoy about your life and freedom in the US is, in large part, thanks to constant vigilence over scumbags like Trump who want to **** around with national security like it's no big thing. Laughably naive.
