I'm not advocating for internal combustion or electric cars. Both have their pros and cons. It's just that we have to face the fact that the oil era (at least oil as our primary transportation fuel) will come to an end at some point in the future so we need to be thinking about the future rather than dreaming about a new oil technology will make it all OK. It shouldn't have to be green driven although there is a case for that.

There is a lot of oil on this planet still but as we get more unconventional, the cost of extracting it and converting it to fuel become higher and higher.
