thought are just to have the government as small, manageable and local as possible, and get it out of my way.

I think many people, myself included agree with that principle. The article presents an extreme and in my opinion an incorrect version of what most libertarians think and feel.

For the record, I do not claim to be a libertarian. I am a conservative that shares some of the libertarian ideology and perspective.
