First off the way the MLB draft works for those who don't know the best players don't always get drafted HIGH! Why? The teams already know in advance if the player will sign or what money it will take to sign him. Often a guy who's projected as a 7th rounder will go in the 2nd round to save money to sign the 1st round guy. Its complicated.
But so far Sam Horn has not been drafted even though he was projected as a top 75 pick. What this tells you is Mizzou came up with ENOUGH money to cover his signing bonus. Period.
High School draft prospects get these 'ADVISORS' who communicate with MLB teams. MLB teams probably already know he wants to much money, or he isn't signing so don't waste the draft pick. Doesn't mean he won't be taken in the 4th round lets say... he doesn't sign.
So the team gets to use that slot money on signing someone else. Often times MLB teams do this.
So I would guess Sam Horn will be drafted but not being taken in the top rounds is a sign that MIZZOU PAID UP!
I'm betting Sam Horn will be Mizzou opening day starter. Just a guess.
