Spot on, a lot of the younger crowd gets hyped by the pedestal committed players are put on. The likes of Power Mizzou and RockM put any single player that commits to a Mizzou sport on a pedestal like they are the savior of that certain sport, I’ve fell for it multiple times, but it has very rarely ever been even remotely close to being true.
It all has to do with athleticism and coaching, Pinkle was one of the best, he got the guys to play. Norm was one and I think Quin could’ve been. Now we just have 2 unproven coaches running the major programs, hoping for lightning in a bottle. Drink can recruit, but can he run a program, 1-2 more years will tell. We all know Dennis Gates can recruit, but can he run a program, 3-4 years will tell. But, now they have to get the players, that are actual players and going to give them their all, and not have the websites say they are the saviors! I’m done listening, time to put up or shut up, and actions are louder than words!
