who cares about saving an extra regular season game to play some directional school that helps you secure a .500 record to play in a meaningless bowl game?

The bowl system was ruined by the playoff. IMO it would be more fun to let teams that don't make the playoff, regardless of record, schedule a post season exhibition at their discretion.
