With advances in medical science viability changes but not because it is an arbitrary number. How is birth any less arbitrary? Killing a baby in the birth canal is fine but ten seconds later it's murder?

The original first, second and third trimesters were definitely arbitrary. The new numbers that are being used have actual meanings.
