Last year Bolton was out of position a lot on coverages. One foot the wrong way and you're behind in the NFL. That's why he didn't play in passing situations. That's good news, if it's technique only. He can learn it. He's highly motivated and smart. Running backs and tight ends aren't usually the fastest receivers on the field. It's an open question how fast he can play in coverage with better technique. Hopefully this year he shows advances so he can stay on the field. Chenal has deficits in pass coverage too. But he's got a non-stop motor and a desire to learn. They could eventually make for a fearsome unit of linebackers with Gay, but man, they're young and need to grow up fast. If they don't, they'll be off the field on passing downs.
