Congrats and, if it can still be said, thank you for your service to the country.
Some of us were raised to appreciate that and still do. I was not military, but my father was a co-pilot in a B24 Liberator and made it through the tail-end of WWII.
Had an uncle that hit the beaches in the Pacific, was wounded but lived, another in the Navy that made it through ok.
Older brothers were draft eligible but somehow just missed it and the Viet Nam war ended.
To go back, can trace relatives to the civil war, both for the north, one from Ireland that ended up in Wisky and one from Denmark that ended up in New Jersey. The one from NJ was killed charging across a field at the battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse.
