3 of the previous 4 years we had lost to a much lower seeded team. The 1989 run to the sweet 16 felt like the anomaly.

That said, I will admit that their were signs the 2012 team was flawed as well. 2 losses to ksu didn't look good. But, we ended the season by winning the Big 12 tournament, not losing to cu on the first day, like we did in 1990.

Probably more pure talent on the 1990 team. But the 2012 team seemed more poised to make a run as they entered the NCAA tournament.
