I'm not a fan of the hire...but...

they did beat the other top teams in the Horizon this year - PFW, Wright State, North Kentucky. They struggled with Oakland for some reason. They hung in there vs. BYU, the main quality team they played.
Last year, they won the league and nearly beat Ohio State. However, I was troubled by the fact they were destroyed by Ohio by 55 points (Ohio won the MAC and won a game in the NCAA, but still), and lost another game to Wright State by 36.
So, hard to judge. Seems like a reach, but he's certainly turned a dreadful program around.
I would hire English. High ceiling, and though he went 14-16, 11 of their losses were very close and against better competition. He was a bucket or two away from having the same record. And he would excite the fan base.
