Vandy there is not a school in this conference we can compete with when it comes to NIL funds. Probably not even Vandy. But we have never been able to complete when it came to athletic department donations either, above board or the more shady ones. That was true in the B12 and back to our B8 days.
Despite that we have had coaches in both FB and BB that found ways to be competitive.
Your NIL argument is just an new take on the 'but we don't cheat' arguments that we have heard for decades, and still do.
We are not going to compete with the Bluebloods in this conference when it comes to talent acquisition. We are not going to get top ten classes here. We need a correct who can land classes in the 20-30 range and be good enough at player development and the Xs and Os to turn them into a competitive team.
Pinkle did that in FB and Mike Anderson did that in BB. It can be done if we hire the right coach, CM is obviously not that guy. And it has nothing to do with NIL.
