and this was years ago that he no longer believed in the power of street marching protest. He believed that even with all his fame and popularity back in the late 60's and early 70's that he made little or no change in the causes he was fighting for.

the funny thing is you can't find these interviews or articles anywhere. These statements of course were all right during the year 1980 right after he was coming out of his 5 year seclusion and just before he was shot.
