If you have a fundraising campaign and then at the end say "oh, by the way, we are going to use these funds to buyout Coach X." You are going to pizz off a lot of your donors. Even donors who would be glad to see that coach gone.

Bait and switch is not a good idea if you ever plan to go back to the same well again.
