The NFL implemented the Rooney Rule meaning that in practice even if you had no plans to hire them, you had to interview a few tokens so the NFL could feel good about itself. Now Flores is suing as it is very clear these sham interviews were indeed just that - a process of patronizing the black candidates by offering them interviews even if they stood no chance of being hired.

It was stupid. It was patronizing. And I would delight in it costing the league millions.
