Cloth masks had some utility against the earlier variants, where the expelled viral loads were much smaller.
But with omicron thriving in the bronchi, the expelled viral load is now so great that even though the mask stops some of it, the remainder is so great that everyone’s going to catch it whether we wear masks or not.
