clouded by things getting worse. What Mike Anderson did was not good enough it was getting worse. He had a mutiny on his hand. The average fan thinks we would’ve had that team plus Otto Porter and maybe by butterfly effect Lawrence Bowers does not get hurt. The fact of the matter is that Kim English was absolutely going to leave and others were very much considering it. It’s very possible that Dixon and Denmon were also going to leave and maybe even that might not have been the end of it.
Today, most Mizzou fans are upset with him because they say he didn’t recruit at the end and left Mizzou hanging. As a guy who never wanted to hire Mike Anderson and was glad to see him go, I will defend him on that subject because he entered that season with only one scholarship available to give and it was going to go to Otto Porter. By the time Underwood and Stone were gone he would have been scraping the bottom of the barrel of juco‘s or kids that did not belong in the big 12. Yeah, he never should’ve signed those two in the first place that he failed to get any of his better targets to pair with Dixon.
Just because Alden screwed up the series of events afterwards, does not mean it wasn’t time for Mike Anderson to go.
