should have been all along.

If the SC had never made this a federal issue it would be a moot point by now. Over the last fifty years each state would have worked out a plan that worked for their populace. You would probably see unrestricted abortion on the coasts, almost no abortion in the Bible belt and something in between for most of the country. It would be different across the land but everywhere would have found a compromise that worked for them.

R -v- W was one of the worst and most convoluted decisions in SC history. It also turned abortion into a wedge issue when it never needed to be.
