court - FIJI
"What is relevant at this point, is that Cuonzo Martin is taking on what is arguably the largest and most challenging rebuild in the history of the sport (
false-if not Kennesaw State, or another*, that would be the UMBC disaster which was 41-172 over 7 years, and then went 97-60 these last 5 years). You could make a reasonable parallel to the programs that reclass into D1 and the obstacles they initially face. But those programs are not additionally faced with being on probation, having considerable APR restrictions, a pending academic investigation, and such initial overwhelming fan apathy. Almost every potential hurdle or obstacle that could face an incoming coach is in place, and to date Martin has shown nothing but the ability to overcome them. The true test will be the quality of product he puts on the court, but it is simply phenomenal the amount of turnaround that has taken place within the program since he took over. MU basketball has yet to achieve any success under him, but at least MU basketball matters and people are excited. Our program is to be taken seriously again."
That great assessor of talent, FIJI The Magnificent, has spoken.
