"Secrets of the Temple, how the Federal Reserve runs the country" by William Greider, really solid book. The banks have done a spectacular job selling the idea that in all cases inflation is bad, bad, bad. It's not. It has been 30 yrs since I read that so I cannot go into detail, but it was good work.

Inflation right now is NOT low/moderate and not a good thing, but a result of lots of factors.
