him home from the ER. Alcohol & pot were factors and he hit loose gravel on an off-ramp and took out a 4x4 sign post.
They wanted to keep him for observation as he had an eggshell fracture at the base of his skull.
Came back from days off with an obituary in my inbox with a note to conduct a followup investigation.
Dude's brain stem was bruised and started swelling. They were getting ready to crack open his skull to allow for the swelling and he coded.
Pretty sad, had just graduated from Mizzou with a Master's in something pertaining to Municipal Management and was the city manager for a small KS community.
