When you demonstrate you aren’t even competitive, as we did against Tennessee, the entire uniform thing just seems silly and vapid. As my college coach used to say when someone would ask why he was so hard on us, “If you spray paint a turd with gold paint, do you know what it becomes? A giant gold turd.”

How you dress doesn’t matter until you have something of value to actually show.
