Construction of the wall there is a more difficult task due to the terrain, i.e. higher elevations, mountains and valleys.

Also, the orginal problem was not as great because the number of folks coming across the border in that area was not all that many. However, as the wall was completed, etc. in other areas, Southeastern Arizona began to attract more and more traffic.
