His rankings were worse than Pinkel’s, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt at the time that he’d develop players. There were a few, but there were way too many misses across the board every year. We’re now reaping the result of all those recruiting misses. When that happens year after year it savages a program.

Drink is going to need every bit of the next two years, maybe more, to right the ship. When the 2022 class are contributors in a significant way, we’ll for sure be able to assess Drink’s program. It may take until then. Before that, it will be a program held together with chewing gum and baling wire.
