The world isn't black and white. You have more choices than celebration and attacking. If you use hyperbole and exaggeration to make things sound worse than they are, if weakens your point.

You should be able to say "Cuonzo Martin is very close to the standard set by coaches at MU, and falls about one win per year short of that." And chill out.
