Is that they would cost the SEC big money because media football rights drive everything. If you’re a high population state with a decent program, you’re desirable. If you’re a low population state, you’d better have a great football program (OU). If you’re missing both of those, you have no chance of getting into the SEC. Nobody in the conference wants to take a pay cut for them nor will any other major conference.
