be a net positive thing. we should be able to sell texas recruits on our own merits, not because we're close to their home but not as close as any of the other schools they're considering. that feels like a recipe for a perpetual 4th place finish.

i'd rather establish a position as a top contender in our pod and attract kids who want to win vs. attracting kids who don't want to leave home.
