when in fact millions of women across the country (some men too I imagine) cannot return to work b.c there is not adequate child care available due to the pandemic.

Inflation preceded Carter and you know that. Remember WIN. I do. And much of the rebound under Reagan was driven by govt spending - handed out without the taxes to support it. Biden's proposed tax rates are the equal to those all the way back in history to the hazy days of W.
