We all know the far left of the Dem party has longed for a $15 min wage, and has been successful within many cities mainly due to those cities being very progressive, but also $15 was not far from the normal wage within most of the cities anyways.

With the stimulus bill a year ago, one of the first proposals put fort was to add $600 to unemployment. Trump fairly quickly jumped on, and then most of the GOP (although some reluctantly) followed. It was tested again in the fall, and the GOP had pretty much convinced the Dems to roll it back, but Trump wanted to keep the higher numbers, which helped get the two Senators elected in Georgia as it stalled out.

Fast forward to now. People are now making good money on unemployment, and jobs are needed. The Dems still want to pass a high min wage, but thanks to the extra payments, the wage will quickly increase to that amount regardless of laws.

The narrative is now...if you want to get people off the government payroll, pay them a "livable wage".

I am not sure if this was great planning by the Dems, maybe tacid support by the GOP (they wanted it, but they can now blame the Dems for it while keeping their base quiet), or a mixture of both. We have all learned that once government adds something, taking it away is nearly impossible.

So here we are....wages will increase, and once they go up, they won't go down either....and a new normal is coming forth.

Whether the GOP was complicit or duped, I do not know, but they made a horrible mistake last year....or, like many have said, there is really not much of a difference between the two parties.
