It does not pose any risk to water supply and it does not cause earthquakes.
Disposing of frack fluids is the real problem; the fluids that are produced when the wells are cleaned up after a major frack treatment. Injecting these waters into brine reservoirs at depth definitely does cause earthquakes but it's not the fracture stimulation process that is the culprit.
