It's not a comparison of our military strength to theirs. It's simply provides an understanding of how militarized that town is, the availability of military assets, troops, etc. and how that added considerable risk.
In fact, the location of where the mission would take place,the civilian population density immediately in that area and so on was what, in part, ramped up the risk quotient.
I mean, why am I even trying to explain this to a moron like yourself? And why would the CS Monitor have that headline?
