Poll results are known to overstate church attendance

When researchers compare actual attendance counts at churches to polls asking about church attendance they have found that poll results consistently overstate attendance.

Apparently, many people respond to poll questions with answers that they think will enhance the questioners opinion of the responders virtue.

As far as I know this is true for all ethnic groups.
