She was about to use the knife (and maybe already did) and the officer was correct to use some type of force to subdue her. I think we can all agree on that.
However, were 4 shots necessary? I'm not a cop, and I don't own a gun, so serious question: Once you fire a gun, is it difficult to not shoot it the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time? Is it a rhythmic action that is difficult to stop once you start? I really don't know. Can't really tell from the video what the first shot did to the girl. She was big. Maybe the other shots were necessary, but then again maybe not.
