Cuonzo Martin and Mizzou basketball.
First, your take on Watson is flawed. Defensive athleticism and offensive athleticism are two very different things. His length on defense helps him on the wing, but more of his skill on that end is his ability to make sound defensive decisions - which is something he's been taught. While Watson is athletic in some ways, he lacks the quickness and ball-handling skill to drive to the basket. He has never developed that part of his game. You could claim that is the fault of our coaching staff if you want, but CM has said (early in his sophomore year) that he wanted Watson to develop more dimension to his game. Since then, he has been passed by other players who have taken his PT.
Second, you choose a failure to capture the CM era (which isn't over, by the way). Others might choose to capture it by Dru Smith or Kassius Robertson, both of whom came in as transfers from mid-major schools, improved to lead their teams and end up as all-SEC players who were reliable offensive players and lock-down defenders. But no, you choose Watson. That tells me more about you than Cuonzo Martin.
