but this is a sucker play to appease the Jay Bil-asses of the media who are openly telling kids that a college education is worthless (his Dook 4 yr undergrad is now $308K tuition only). This is a diversion from the direct pay for play scheme that Bilas & his ilk (and their collective social guilt) want to legalize.
The majority of NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL players are not marketable, and don't have large endorsement contracts. What makes college kids think that this is gold mind? It isn't, and the colleges know it. Oh, and the colleges aren't giving up the apparel deals.
