basketball has gone into the final weekend of the season one time with a chance to win a regular season conference championship since 1994, and in most seasons have essentially been eliminated from that by mid season.

It is a mid level D1 program at best with a few hiccups of being good in the last 27 years.

That is kind of a trend.
