or other underdelivered. Some were injured, some could not wait to ever see significant playing time and many were whether they players would admit it or not were also a poor fit for their respective programs.
Too many coaches also attach a stigma to these players believing they don't have what it takes to succeed or play at a high level. While these are generalizations when you start digging into their respective situations these will be the main themes.
Also those in the portal got ahead of themselves wrongly believing the NCAA would fix roster limits and if they were first in the portal they would be some of the first to find new programs. That assumption is at the heart of this morass. Most of these players thought the transfer portal would be a new life line, instead unless roster limits are fixed by the NCAA the players are going to find out there is no place for them at all.
