I would have never suggested that the GOP not participate in the first impeachment. It was a partisan sh1t show but it was constitutional and done by the book.
If current GOP Senators believe that it is constitutional to impeach a president who has already left office they should proceed. But many of them are on record saying this hearing is unconstitutional, why participate if that is your belief?
Nixon left office to avoid impeachment and he was not impeached after leaving office. There is a reason for that.
