ll of it is about establishing the collective over the individual. No person is unique, accountable, it's easy to control and manipulate people who identify in a group against "the other".

If an individual says or does something in the US today, whatever collective they are identified with is ridiculed and canceled.

It's a frightening, sad, pathetic societal trend and it's doing nothing but accelerating.
