is more along the lines that you may have to wait because the stations are all full.
My nephew has a Tesla in San Francisco and drove to STL - they estimated it took an additional 2 hours to make the trip because of charging. That's not a massive difference. Currently, you do need to plan ahead. You charge at breakfast, you charge at lunch, you charge late afternoon.
Several European countries have the exact same goal - California didn't come up with it out of thin air.
