more than a troll, and a very smug one at that. I agree. But I'd have to admit if under oath, I'm pretty much a troll here too. I didn't used to be, but I've become one over time. I acknowledge that. It came from frustration that every time I'd get into a semblance of a serious discussion it just would be derailed by stupid people who were not being serious.

But serious "discussion" is impossible here any more. Make a serious post and you'll get ten wacko responses from QAnon believers in no time. Or else fake people lke yy4u or DollarSigns or jonesin or patriot or Fester show up and start screaming at you, interrupting the thread so it's impossible to converse. Or an a**hole like 90 or 92 show up and yell at you that you're an idiot. So I gave up and just decided to have a good time with it.

It's a shame. Ten years ago you could have really good conversation here--even between left and right. In fact, there was a time when you could have a good conversation with 4tigs, at least for a few minutes before the a**hole side came out. But not anymore. Now it's a**hole all the way down.

So I'll be taking a leave of absence here shortly. The politics board has become tedious, uninteresting, and I've become a lot busier at work. If I have the strength of character it will be a permanent leave, but I'll probably succumb to temptation once in a while and at least lurk.
